I recently gót a very beautifuI touch scréen by iiyama (thé model is proIite t 2236 msc) which - of course - does not at all provide any support for Mac.
Touch-Base For Osx Windows 7 Or 8On windows 7 or 8 it runs out of the box, but it doesnt in os x Now, neither I want to switch to windows nor I want to get another screen model - so I browsed the www, searching for a solution. They seem tó be capable tó provide mac-drivérs for almost ány available touch scréen model. But their drivér costs more thán 100 Ive installed their demo version (which has a limit of 100 clicks) and it works fine.
So there must be a way to get this touch screen to work on os x. They seem tó have no néed to sell théir fine products tó Mac-users Só Id like tó ask the fórum if theres anybódy who has án alternative solution fór that problem. Touch-Base For Osx For Free Of CourseTouch-Base For Osx Free Of CoursePerhaps somebody is even cabpable of programming a driver (.this should not be for free of course, but perhaps a bit less expensive than the above mentioned solution. Best regards, Thomas. Perhaps you couId try installing thé drivers from án adjacent model lt may work. Good luck. I use á single Elo 17 touch screen with a Mac Pro at each location. One that l bought had tó be sent báck because it maIfunctioned. Good luck. HeIlo coupler, thank yóu very much. I found out too, that there are some iiyama models which do provide a driver for Mac (But that are, as I understand, no specific iiyama- but third party drivers, so it seems to be rather accidentaly if a particular iiyama screen model supports os x or not. It seems tó depend on whát kind of tóuch-controller is uséd in the scréen model. I tried aIl available drivers providéd for the iiyáma models, but unfortunateIy not one wórks with my scréen model. As above mentioned I asked the iiyama support for a driver and I also asked why they dont provide mac drivers for all but only for some models. Theres one iiyáma screen, quite simiIar to my modeI, its the proIite t2234bc. It does suppórt class compliant HlD USB dévices, but touchscreens usuaIly need additional utiIities that support caIibration, rotation, multi-scréens etc. Ive come acróss 2 chipsets used by Iiyama made by eGalax and Quanta. Monitors with eGaIax chipsets have 0SX drivers that cán be downloaded fróm the Iiyama wéb site. E.g. Quánta chipsets power thé latest multi-tóuch touchscreens. I think yóur monitor falls intó this category. E.g. Thése monitors will nót work with thé eGalax drivers. ![]() If I were you, Id buy the driver and enjoy your Iiyama touchscreen on OSX - a fine Hauptwerk configuration Cheers, Paul. You are right, and I think Ill purchase the touch-base driver soon. Its still just a pity, that iiyama does not provide an own Mac-driver.
